Adult Beginners Taster – Epee

Monday 4th November 2024

8 pm to 9:30 pm

A one-night introductory taster session in Epee fencing, suitable for all ages from 16 upwards

Epee is a very accessible weapon for adults because the principles and rules of the weapon are very straightforward and very little specialist kit is needed.

(For an intro to Epee and the other weapons see our videos section.)

Those who complete the one-night taster will be given the option to carry on with further training.

You will need: tracksuit trousers, a T-shirt and trainers – we will provide everything else you’ll use on the course.

Each session is 1.5 hours and incorporates a general warm-up.  The course covers the basics of fencing footwork; the principles of fencing with the epee; blade work techniques; practice ’bouts’, and an introduction to fencing using electronic scoring equipment.   The course is led by Kate Smith, former British Champion (Senior and Veteran) and GB and England fencer, and Level 3 Coach.

All equipment provided. Feel free to contact us if you have any queries. By buying this course you agree to be bound by the club’s waiver.
