When is the next beginner's course for kids?

What's the minimum age for children to start fencing?

Juniors must be 10 years or older to participate in junior classes or beginner courses or lessons.

Which session should my child join for fencing lessons?

New fencers must register for a beginner course or introductory lesson first. Existing junior fencers can join Monday (6:30-8:00 PM Epee, ages 10-17) or Tuesday (6:30-7:30 PM Foil/Epee, ages 10-17) sessions after contacting the club to confirm space availability.

My child has fenced before. Can we just turn up?

Please contact the club below to check junior session availability and we will arrange a convenient time for a trial. The first trial night is free; ongoing participation requires membership. Walk-ins cannot be accommodated due to coaches already committed to lessons and classes.

I'm looking to restart fencing after a long break. What do you advise?

If you’re new or rusty, enroll in a beginner course via the courses page. However, if you have had alot of experience before then a beginners class may be too basic. Junior fencers should check the answer above. If you are an adult, the best thing to do is just turn up and join in. You’d be surprised how quickly you can get back into it. Experienced adult fencers can attend Monday or Tuesday evening sessions (7:00-9:30 PM) to refresh their skills. Club equipment is available for members.

When is the next taster session or course?

All course and class information appears on the courses page with “Book Now” options for available sessions. Sign up for the mailing list if no courses are currently listed to be notified when new dates are published.

I have some old kit that I'm not using anymore. Does the club want it?

We are happy to take donations of nearly new equipment or clothing. We are unlikely to take very old equipemnt and clothing as it may not be safe. Please bring the items to a Monday or Tuesaday evening session and we’d be happy to take a look. Although we often take quality donations, the club doesn’t normally buy second hand equipment and suggests you use an auction site.

I'm having trouble paying with my credit card. What should I do?

If you’re having trouble paying on any of our systems please consult our Payment Problems page.
