Junior Beginners Course – Epee

Six Weeks – Monday Nights – 2nd Sep – 7th Oct 2024

6.30 pm to 8:00 pm

A six-week introductory course to fencing, for under 18’s from 10 years old. 

This is an Epee course as it’s a very accessible weapon because the principles and rules of the weapon are very straightforward and very little specialist kit is needed.

You will need: tracksuit trousers, a T-shirt and trainers – we will provide everything else you’ll use on the course.  

Each session is 1.5 hours and incorporates a general warm-up.  The course covers the basics of fencing footwork; the principles of fencing with the epee; blade work techniques; practice ’bouts’, and an introduction to fencing using electronic scoring equipment.   The course is led by Kate Smith, former British Champion (Senior and Veteran) and GB and England fencer, and Level 3 Coach.
