Refunds Policy

Kingston Fencing Club is a non-profit organisation that seeks only to cover the costs of running the club. The main expenses of the club are the hire of the hall, coaching fees, equipment maintenance and the purchase of new equipment. Membership fees are are paid in advance for the quarterly and entitles you to attend the club for during that period. Membership not only allows you to attend the club and use its facilities but also ensures the club continues to exist for the benefit of all members in the future.

The club is run entirely by volunteers for the benefit of club members. Our policies recognise the valuable free time contributed by our volunteers and favour minimising their administrative burden. As such the club cannot offer generous refunds more befitting of a commercial organisation. Thank you for understanding.

Membership Fees

Membership fees are paid quarterly in advance. No refunds are possible during the quarter. Please inform the club if you do not wish the renew your membership for the next quarter. If you decide to end your membership during the quarter no refunds are due for seasons not attended during that quarter. The club does not offer refunds for missed sessions for any reason (including holidays and illness), and does not allow missed sessions to carry over into the next payment period.

All membership fees cover a calendar quarter and are renewed on these quarter anniversary of joining. The club fences all year round and therefore does not offer discounts or reduced fees outside of school terms such as in the summer or any other holidays including public holidays.

Fencing evenings that are cancelled by the club are non-refundable. No refunds are payable if the club is forced to close for a session if the school chooses to close the hall. If the club is forced to close for an extended period then the club may offer member refunds during this period. The choice to do so is at the discretion of the club committee.

Visitor fees are non-refundable.

We regret that we cannot refund missed sessions due to illness including COVID-19. Do not attend the club if you are ill or have had a positive COVID-19 test.

Refunds for Fencing Courses

Fencing courses, training and taster sessions are refundable up to 14 days before the course starts. No refunds can be issued for missed courses. Please contact the club if you are unable to attend to request a credit for the next available course.

Equipment Loans

Kingston Fencing Club may retain some of all of the deposits used for equipment loans. This is entirely at the club’s discretion.
